The role of inter-modality within the Trans-European Networks: environmental and logistical advantages

The Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea of Italy in cooperation with the Autonomos Region Friuli Venezia Giulia is organizing the Conference “The role of inter-modality within the Trans-European Networks: environmental and logistical advantages” on Thursday 9 June from 9:30 until 13:00, at the Italian Ministry for Infrastructures and Transport, in the EUR District, Viale dell’Arte, 16, Rome.

The conference is open to the public and it is taking place in the context of the second Consortium Meeting of the BATCo – Baltic-Adriatic Axis project, co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund via the CENTRAL EUROPE Programme.

BATCo, started in 2010 and finishing in 2013, see 18 partners from 5 European countries (Austria, Italy, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia) cooperating in order to find tailored transport solutions for the axis linking the Baltic to the Adriatic Sea. The interventions are meant to foster the economic competitiveness and to be technologically advanced and environmentally sustainable.

The axis Baltic-Adriatic is the intermodal corridor which is linking the main ports to the urban centers from Poland to Italy, one of the priority route for the Trans-European Transport Networks (TEN-T). Further information on the project are available on the website: www.baltic-adriatic.eu.

The Conference is offering the occasion to present the BATCo Project in Rome, and to investigate with experts the potential actions that will be implemented in the future as well as their impacts. Citizens, operators in the field of public information, transport, business sector and environment are invited to take part in.
